DEWALT D55140 1 Gallon Air Compressor 135 PSI Max Trim Compressor Review

1 Gallon Air Compressor

Today we’re excited we have the DeWalt D55140 1-gallon trim compressor

it pumps out about 135 psi via its 2.6 amp motor that also gives it quick

recovery times which we like a lot it’s got a maintenance-free pump there’s no

oil so that makes it kind of quiet and you don’t have a problem if you have it

in a coal garage starting it up the oil this wants you to fire right up via the

oil wand it’s really quiet it’s got about 71 DBAs weighs about 24 pounds and

it’s nine inches tall so it is compact it is one gallon it has a handle on it

you can grab it take it around whatever you want to do it’s a good little

compressor what we also like about it has a couple innovative features is

first of all it’s yellow powder coated which I like a lot how to paint a tool

on it didn’t chip so it’s really rugged on the side here as a cord roll-up so

I’ll just do it roll your cord up and then you can take it on the jobsite

whatever on the bottom of the unit has these nice rubber grips which actually

do a couple things they help it maintain quietness and it also doesn’t damage or

mark the floor that you’re that you just put in after putting up the trim another

thing to notice on the bottom here is a shock valve and when you first get these

compressions you’re going to want to break a man so the first thing you’re

going to want to do into Walt recommends is you’re just going to flip this to the

open and run the unit for 15 minutes just to free up everything and make sure

everything’s running good after that you can go ahead and close this valve so

that’s a good good feature that we like there also drains water if you ever get

any moisture in there go on to the front now as you can see

it’s a real nice laid out system we have your tank pressure over here you have

your regulator where we can adjust your pressures anywhere up to a 135 psi and

this is your regulated pressure and of course here is your valve or your very

fast so actually this thing is so quiet it’s been running this entire time and

you can’t even, so we love it no I’m kidding here we’re

gonna fire it up for you so as you still hear me talking it’s pleasantly quiet so

if you’re in a client’s house you’re putting in the finishing touches on

their nice wood floors you don’t want to allow compressors gonna wake everybody

up or you know disturb the people that live there so what we’re gonna do is

we’re gonna go ahead and we’re going to drive to finish it why are you laughing

keep going dude why you laughing wake people up I’m doing it in the morning

okay I guess we don’t nail at 1:00 in the morning Eric thinks that’s funny so

but you guys know what I’m saying if there’s any kind of um you know you

don’t want to disturb your customer you want to go in there you want to get the

job done you want to be quiet quick clean and get out get paid so this unit

is gonna help you do that what we’re gonna do now is we’re going to go ahead

and we’re going to run this camper wash field nailer and we’re gonna see how

good of a job we’re going to run through some pie and stuff here and we’re gonna

see what kind of power we get out of it so let’s go ahead and see the tool in

action okay so what we’re going to do now is we’re going to run a cup of bread

9:16 Brad nails right into this wood here the gun we have is rated for 120

psi so what we’re going to do is we’re going to turn the regulator down

regulator down to 120 and as you see it’s right there at 120 so we’re good to

go on that and let’s run some nails and see what how many hours we can run recovery

okay so ten nails and it recovered so you can still shoot nails the 2.6 amp

motor will allow you to still shoot nails why it’s recovering but we’re

going to just do one more tests see if we get ten more

there you have it that’s the DeWalt D55140 1-gallon trim compressor real rugged little unit we

like the roll cage it’s a great compressor to have on site at your job.
